“What I treasure most about being a member of the SCAN Health Embrace program is the resurgence of the medicine that I grew up with when I graduated from medical school in 1959. I have a nurse practitioner, Mary Jane, that I trust, implicitly who is readily available for me in my times of need.

The most graphic example of that being my moving Joanne, my wife of 65 years into Memory Care. Mary Jane made the process as comfortable as it could possibly be. She was with us throughout the decision making, the actual move, and available to see Joanne on a daily basis during her stabilizing, and weekly since then. Not only was Mary Jane helpful for Joanne, she also helped me with the challenges of grieving, and living alone for the first time in my life. There are many more benefits too numerous to enumerate. For me SCAN Embrace has renewed my trust and hope for a new “Healthcare-ing System,” that along with bringing improvements in treatment and technology, can provide the necessary emotional connectedness, for the process of healing.”
