Get a Leg Up on the Flu

Want to sidestep getting sick this coming flu season? Get protected early by getting your flu shot now, before the flu starts spreading in the next few months.

As a SCAN member, you can get your flu shot at the pharmacy or your doctor’s office—you choose where is most convenient for you. Flu shots are covered at no cost. (If you get your shot during an appointment with your doctor, you may need to pay the copay for the office visit.)

If you’re planning on traveling soon, you’ve got even more reason to get protected now. Spending time in airports, restaurants and other busy public places makes it more likely you’ll be exposed to the flu. Remember, it takes a few weeks after getting a flu shot for its full protection to kick in. With that in mind, consider adding a flu shot to your pre-trip checklist.
