Andy Allocco is an executive with a demonstrated ability to lead healthcare organizations through dramatic changes in the marketplace. Mr. Allocco most recently served as Senior Vice President of Provider Services for Aetna, where he had national and international responsibility for network development of over 700,000 provider contracts, and was accountable for $12 billion of medical claims costs.
Mr. Allocco previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Network Management for WellPoint. In this capacity he had responsibility for the network of the Western Region as well as its subsidiaries, UNICARE and Blue Cross of California.
At Blue Shield of California, Mr. Allocco held the position of Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. As a member of the Executive Committee, he guided the process of defining the mission and developing the strategy for underwriting profitability, as well as enhancing the corporate planning process. He also built Blue Shield's PPO and was instrumental in initiating its HMO.
Mr. Allocco began his career as Vice President and Assistant Administrator of California Hospital Medical Center. He later served as Chief Operating Officer at Saint Bernadine’s Hospital. He worked for Blue Cross of Southern California, serving as President and COO of the Health Force Management Group as well as President and CEO of HealthNet.
Mr. Allocco is a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow. He has served on the boards of Mobile Technology Inc. and the Motion Picture & Television Fund. He has also been an active member of the Hospital Council of Northern California, the Healthcare Association of Southern California, and the California Coalition of Health Care.
Mr. Allocco holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health and Hospital Administration from UCLA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wagner College.
