Nancy Monk is SCAN’s Chief Operations Officer, and is responsible for Strategic Planning and the company’s non-clinical operations, including Member Services, Enrollment, Claims, and Human Resources. These are all areas that serve and support SCAN members and employees – as such Nancy plays a key role in helping SCAN fulfill its mission of keeping seniors healthy and independent. Prior to her current role, Nancy served as SCAN’s Chief Risk Officer and Chief Administrative Officer.

Before joining SCAN in 2012, Nancy was senior vice president, regulatory and public affairs, for United Healthcare, where she led the regulatory and compliance activities for the company’s western region. In her previous position as vice president of state government affairs for PacifiCare Health Systems, she oversaw the regulatory affairs and public policy programs for all states in which the company operated. Prior to that she was a government relations executive for National Medical Enterprises Inc. (now Tenet Healthcare).

Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College. She holds Master of Public Health and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles.
