Does reading mean more to you than scrolling through Facebook posts and scanning the daily newspaper? If so, SCAN’s Learning Communities Book Club may be right up your alley.
The Learning Communities Book Club:
- Meets the third Friday of every month from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. PT.
- Holds meetings online via Zoom. Or members can join by calling in.
- Reads books that are easily available and affordable, either from the library or to buy on Amazon or Audible.
The Learning Communities Book Club members read all kinds of books, from biographies to sci-fi, thrillers to romances.
The book club members take turns choosing the book for the month. After reading the selection, they meet to discuss heroes and villains, plot twists, imagery and more.
Books read by the club so far are:
- The Maid: A Novel by Nita Prose
- Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
- The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
- Solito: A Memoir by Javier Zamora
- The Lager Queen of Minnesota by J. Ryan Stradal
- Horse: A Novel by Geraldine Brooks
- The Jade Lily by Kirsty Manning
- The Boys from Biloxi: A Legal Thriller by John Grisham
- I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
- Book Lovers by Emily Harris
