Message from the CEO
What awards really mean
If you follow SCAN on social media, you may have noticed we’ve received a good many awards over the past several months. While I admit it’s exciting to receive awards and recognition from these respected organizations, I’m not bringing this up to toot SCAN’s horn. What I’d like you to understand is what these awards really mean for you.
A Great Place to Work
Why should it matter to you that SCAN is named to these lists of “Great” and “Best” companies? Because it means our current team members are happy. That our mission is meaningful to them. It means that terrifically talented people will want to come work at SCAN. And the better our people are, the better we can do for our members. One example of “doing better” is our new and improved Discount Marketplace program, which now includes special offers from brands like SKECHERS, Mayo Clinic Diet and more! Watch for details to come.
A Highly Rated Health Plan
You’re probably familiar with Star Ratings, which is the quality rating system developed by Medicare. The ratings are awarded on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, with 5 being the highest. For nine of the past 12 years we’ve been a 4.5-Star plan.*
It’s ratings like these, along with member satisfaction, that lead to additional recognition, such as from U.S. News & World Report. These are independent quality measures that you can rely on.
The Recognition That Matters Most
You play a direct role in many of these accomplishments. The health plan ratings, for example, are based on your responses to surveys from Medicare. So for us, this is the recognition that matters most. Please know that we take your feedback to heart. Whether through a formal survey, a call to Member Services or an email to me, we listen and take action.
Finally, whether you’re brand-new to SCAN this year or are a returning member, we are so pleased you’re with us. Here’s to a healthy, happy year ahead.
