SCAN Reaches 300,000 Members—And Each One Matters

A Message From the CEO

I’m honored to share some exciting news: SCAN Health Plan recently welcomed our 300,000th member!

That makes SCAN the 12th-largest Medicare Advantage plan in the nation. Top 10 is just around the corner! To be honest, SCAN is not out to be the biggest Medicare Advantage plan. Instead, our goal is to provide a better Medicare experience. One that delivers on SCAN’s mission to keep members healthy and independent.

SCAN is proudly not-for-profit, which also sets us apart. Our members-first commitment means that any SCAN member will never be “just a number” to us. Every member matters—and I hope our members have felt that.

I’ve certainly seen it. The most dramatic example is how SCAN responded during the California wildfires in January. SCAN provided air purifiers and replaced medical equipment and medications—in some cases hand-delivering them! When some of our members were evacuated from assisted-living facilities, the SCAN team went above and beyond to track them down and visit them at temporary shelters to ensure they had the medication, supplies and support they needed.

Of course, these are extreme circumstances, but every SCAN member can count on us for the everyday support they need. This is why many of our members chose SCAN in the first place.
