Over-the-Counter Benefit With CVS
With SCAN’s over-the-counter (OTC) benefit, you receive a SCAN debit card pre-filled with your allowance amount. Simply use your card at any CVS Pharmacy on more than 10,000 health and wellness items. If it’s more convenient to shop from home, you can order by phone, online or via app.Flexible Spending Benefit
With some SCAN plans, your allowance can be used on more than just OTC items—and at more locations. With a flexible spending benefit, you’ll receive a flex card with your allowance amount. How you use it depends on your SCAN plan.
For some plans, your allowance also covers groceries*, and your flex card can be used at more than 70,000 grocery stores nationwide.For other plans, your flex card includes an added amount each year to use toward copays for dental services, prescription eyewear and hearing aids.
Grocery Benefit With Instacart
Sometimes we need a little help to eat better—and for some of us, eating healthy is a key part of managing a chronic condition. That’s why SCAN Balance (HMO C-SNP), our plan for people with diabetes and certain heart conditions, includes a grocery benefit with Instacart* in 2025. Use your Instacart allowance toward the food items that are good for you—and help you feel good, too.
Medication Coverage You Can Count On
In 2025, many SCAN members may pay even less for their medications. It’s coverage you can count on. Literally. Our pharmacy page offers a number of tools and resources for members to calculate what their drugs will cost next year. And offers a variety of ways to make those medications more affordable.
Dental Coverage With Plenty of Choice
Members in Los Angeles County who want more choice can now choose a plan that offers a dental allowance benefit. Go to any dentist in Delta Dental’s extensive EPO network and pay $0 for all procedures up to your allowance amount. You get the freedom to spend it on the dental care you want. Preventive care does not count toward your allowance.
All-new Medicare Advantage Plan for Asian Community
SCAN Allied (HMO) was developed in partnership with the Astrana Health network. It offers the comprehensive coverage SCAN is known for, plus valuable extras such as acupuncture, dental, fitness and more. SCAN Allied offers a customized service experience and is available in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Los Angeles counties.
