SCAN offers a hearing aid benefit through TruHearing^® for most SCAN plans.*

Hearing health is important to your overall health and quality of life. That’s why your SCAN hearing benefit lets you connect with TruHearing without a referral from your primary care doctor. This benefit provides support every step of the way, from your first call to TruHearing to follow-up visits. Your hearing aid benefit includes:

• Yearly hearing exams
• Advanced and Premium model hearing aids in a variety of styles
• Fittings and adjustments for 1 year
• Free trial
• 3-year warranty
• 80 free hearing aid batteries

How a Self-Referral Benefit Works

For your medical care, you will see your primary care doctor first whenever you think you may need specialty care (some SCAN plans vary). Many of the supplemental benefits SCAN offers allow you to self-refer, meaning you don’t need a referral from your primary care doctor first.

To use your hearing aid benefit:

• Call TruHearing to connect with a professional consultant, who will answer questions and help schedule your hearing examination.
• During the exam, be sure to share information with your hearing provider so they can make the best recommendations based on your preferences and lifestyle.
• If you decide to purchase hearing aids, take advantage of the follow-up visits for fittings and adjustments that are included at no cost.
