“I love making a difference in patients’ lives by going the extra mile and exceeding their expectations,” Alva says.

Alva is especially excited to be providing care to SCAN members. Alva’s interest in helping others led her to become a nurse, but her love of caring for older adults brought her to SCAN Embrace. She is excited to have the opportunity to get to know her patients, and then to work closely with their doctors and the rest of the Embrace care team to deliver the services and support her patients want and need, when and where they need it.

When not working to make a difference in her patients’ lives, Alva appreciates the quality time she gets to spend with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoys taking walks, hiking and relaxing to music in her backyard.

Alva received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate from Pima Community College.
